summer sunday evenings at point pleasant
Our Summer evening services are held at our property on Talahi Island known as Point Pleasant, from Memorial Day weekend through Labor Day weekend. Point Pleasant is located at 441 Suncrest Blvd. Savannah, Georgia 31410 (15 minutes east of downtown Savannah, toward Tybee Island).
Informal singing begins at 5:15 p.m. and worship proper at 5:30. The facility opens at 4:00 p.m. for appropriate Lord’s Day leisure activities for the family. Our Sunday recreation is guided by the Fourth Commandment, and so limited to that which directly promotes one’s appreciation and love of God and His Word and works. Consequently, we ask that “Sabbath restraint” be shown in all our activities. We also are careful that the informality of the setting not lead to inappropriate or immodest attire. No short shorts, bathing suits, halter tops, or strapless tops should be worn in the worship service. We aim to dress in a manner that befits such occasions and are conducive to the sanctification of the people of God. Our goal is to please God and reflect our identity as a “royal priesthood, a chosen nation and a people belonging to God,” to be “in the world, but not of the world.”
Following the 5:30 worship, we have a fellowship meal; it’s $3 for children, $4 for college students and high school students, $5 for adults, $16 max per family.
Our Sunday morning program (Sunday school and worship) continues throughout the year at our downtown campus located at 207 Bull Street (Corner of Oglethorpe and Bull).
